Changshu New & High-tech Industrial Development Zone was upgraded to a national high-tech zone in September 2015. It is home to the first national university science park in a county-level city in China and the only United World College (UWC) in Mainland China. In recent years, it has received numerous national recognitions, including National Green Industrial Park, National Demonstration Base for New Industrialization, National Automotive Components Characteristic Industry Base, National High-tech Industrialization Base, and National Innovative Industrial Cluster Pilot.
